New research piblished in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, examines the benefits of physical activity, such as brisk walking, on mobility and the ability to perform daily tasks among seniors living with knee osteoarthritis.
The research, conducted over a period of 4 years on 1500 seniors suffering with knee osteoarthritis, showed that a weekly hour of moderate to vigorous exercise (brisk walking) lowered the risk of mobility-related disability by 85 percent and that of daily living disability but nearly 45 percent.
